Resumen: La evolución
monetaria española durante el siglo XVIII viene marcada por la continuidad de
muchas prácticas anteriores, debida a la recepción de importantes remesas de
plata indiana que siguieron llegando, con mayor o menor asiduidad, durante toda
la centuria. Será a principios del siglo siguiente, con la independencia de las
nuevas repúblicas iberoamericanas, cuando se pierda la que había sido la
principal fuente de ingresos del sistema financiero y del propio Estado durante
los últimos tres siglos, lo que supuso una mutación sustancial en la evolución
monetaria española.

Abstract:
The Spanish monetary evolution during the eighteenth century is marked by the
continuation of many previous practices, due to the reception of important
remittances of American silver that continued to arrive, more or less
assiduously, throughout the century. It will be at the beginning of the next
century, with the independence of the new Ibero-American republics, with the
loss of the main source of income of the financial system and of the State
itself during the last three centuries, which supposed a mutation in the
Spanish monetary system.
